About the host
My name is Unathi Mbonambi
A mom of five, family lifestyle content creator, and homeschooler of more than 12 years.
We have children aged 3 to 14, and they've all been homeschooled their entire lives.
Over the years we’ve tried different curricula, joined (and built!) community, and have been adjusting our approach and rhythms as our children grow.
I’m passionate about helping families live intentionally and thrive – and that includes making informed decisions about their children’s education.
This workshop is my way of walking alongside you at the very beginning of your journey, so you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Zikhona Magana, EC
"I had felt convicted to remove my son from mainstream schooling for over 2 years but couldn't bring myself to do it as I knew nothing about homeschooling. From afar, and sometimes even from videos of people who were already doing it, it seemed like something unattainable. But as soon as I started with the workshop, I went from doubting Thomas to being an instant homeschooling mom. In just four weeks, Unathi took us through the most critical aspects of homeschooling in a simplified way that I could immediately apply. Even before the workshop was concluded I knew that I had gained both the knowledge and confidence needed to start homeschooling, as a bonus, I also got the support system.
Julia Gumbo, JHB
"When I joined the Homeschooling for Beginners course, I was clueless about homeschooling. No one in my circle had ever homeschooled before. The course brought me clarity and I found such great support throughout. Thank you Unathi, my family and I are grateful."

"Before the workshop, I was not that confident that choosing to homeschool was going to work out. The information I got in the workshop answered the questions I had. I also got practical tips to get started. I'm super grateful for the advice to de-school first. It made the transition period much easier.
